explanation
I believe that this was something done after my lessons with Karen Clark. She had very loose rules about keeping mediums together; the usual unwritten rule about not mixing pencil and pastel, or in this case, paint and ink, was not really a very important rule in her book. so I got lots of exposure to mixing strange things together for the desired result.
